Also knowing your other system specifications could be helpful. If above didn't help, please also mention your operating system. You can select the Windowed Mode from the launcher just below the text “Screen resolution and refresh rate”. Please try to choose this option from the game's launcher and also try any other options you didn't yet. Sounds like you probably didn't try to launch the game in the Windowed Mode for example.
